ABDEX is a thermostable enzyme, with excellent stability at low pH, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of alpha – 1, 4 glycosidic linkages to quickly reduce the viscosity of gelatinized starch to yield dextrin and oligosaccharides under a variety of process conditions. ABDEX is an endo amylase derived from selected strains of Bacillus sp
Activity | 150,000 BAA u/g |

ABDEX provides the following benefits to the grain processors
Recommended conditions | |
PH Range | Light brown liquid |
Optimum PH | 5.7 – 6.0 |
Time | 90 – 140 minutes |
Temperature | >850 degree C |
The optimal temperature range is from 83 º C to 85º C (182 to 185º F), the stability being maintained over a temperature range from 77 º C to 86º C (170 to 187º F).
The Optimal pH for liquefaction enzyme is in the range of 5.7 to 5.8. The operational pH range is from 5.2 to 5.9
The DE studies have been done at a dosage of 0.6 kg/ MT of starch of ABDEX and at an optimum pH of 5.5. The DE development was best observed at 85 Degree C.
The optimum dosage of ABDEX in the slurry and liquefaction vessels depends on the processing parameters like source of raw material used, dry substance used, pH,
temperature and time. ABDEX works on starch derived from a range of raw materials like corn, rice, wheat, cassava etc. A dosage of 0.2 – 0.6 kg/MT of starch is recommended. The actual dosage and the dosages in the slurry and liquefaction vessels have to be determined in actual plant conditions.
Enzymes are active only at specific conditions like pH and Temperature. Their activity can be ceased by varying the optimum temperature and optimum pH conditions. For ABDEX, this would be either increasing the temperature beyond its optimum that is 90 °C or reducing it below 50°C and simultaneously reducing the pH below 4.5.
ABDEX is available in 25 Kg HDPE drums.
ABDEX should be stored in cool and dry environment. ABDEX is stable for 6 months under these conditions.
